Carpet
Carpet is inviting; it creates a comfortable atmosphere and enhances the look of all your home furnishings.
Carpet is practical, too. It insulates, reducing air conditioning and heating costs, softens sound by absorbing
noise, provides a cushioning layer of protection and comfort, and is easy to maintain.
Because carpet is a key decorative element in the home, and is a major purchase, you may want to keep
several factors in mind in the selection process.
- The Look:
How is the room going to be used? Will it have heavy or light traffic? Will the room be the center of activity? Is there direct access from outside, or will the carpet be away from entrances?
- The Feel:
Carpet construction, such as: level loop pile, multi-level loop pile, cut pile, cut and loop pile, frieze and
trackless, printed patterns and fiber content.
- The Performance:
The type of fiber used and the way the carpet is constructed (loop, cut, etc.) determines the basic
performance of the carpet. Quality can be enhanced by the way the fibers, or yarns, are twisted and heat set, and by the density of the tufts
- Carpet Brands:
Atlas, Brinkman, Blue Ridge, Caladiun, Citation, Freedom, Hollytex, Lees, Philadephia, Queen, RHS,
Salem, Shaw, Tuftex and Wellco are just a sample of carpets carried by California Scene Interiors.
Ceramic Tile
Numerous factors have encouraged the popularity of ceramic tile: growth in resources, advancements in
installation technology, and advancements in glaze and ceramic technology, which have resulted in ceramic
tiles that simultaneously offer incredible beauty and durability.
Ceramic tile has become a real bargain to the consumer due to its favorable pricing trends. Ceramic tile is
an environment winning product.
- Low Maintenance:
Ceramic tile resists dirt and stains and requires little effort to maintain its like-new appearance.
- Water Resistance:
Glazed or unglazed, ceramic tile's composition permits little or no accumulation of moisture.
- Fire Resistant:
Ceramic tile is essentially burnt clay which doesn't burn and give off toxic fumes.
Wood Flooring
Wood flooring has come a long way in the past 30 years. Basically there are three types of wood flooring:
Solid, Laminate and Acrylic Impregnated. There are three styles available too:
- Strip:
Strip flooring is linear flooring that is usually 1 1/4, 1 1/2 or 3 1/4 wide. It creates a linear effect in a room,
often promoting the illusion of a larger space.
- Plank:
Plank flooring is also linear, however, it is wider in width. Common widths of plank flooring are 3", 4", 5"
and 6". Plank flooring is often preferred for a more traditional or country decor.
- Parquet:
Parquet flooring is a series of wood flooring pieces that create a geometric design. Parquet offers a
variety of design options, when linear is not your preference.
- Wood Flooring Brands:
Anderson, Fibo-Trespo, Hartco, Mannington and Premier, are just some of the brands carried here at
California Scene Interiors.
